Almost all laser models are equipped with a special target so that the use of levels is more convenient. To measure distances at a large distance from the object, some devices are equipped with an optical vizier. With it, you can note the desired point at a distance of up to 1000 meters! Without this, getting into the "target" even from 50 meters is problematic.
