Cut it a

Select a piece of veneer for facing and using a marking knife and steel ruler cut it a little more than the base.

Now organize a clamping device-press: prepare a few G-unit clamps and put the paper as the base, a spatula or a similar “spatula” apply PVA glue. Sometimes they make a “notch” on the basis (give roughness) with cinubel or saw, but for modern adhesives it is not necessary. The spatula here is jagged, in order to distribute the glue evenly.
