Modern trends move in the direction of warm, scattered light, muffled shadows. Glass or plastic scatters on bright bulbs are suitable as an inexpensive elegant upper light, this will soften and dissipate yellow light and create a warm cozy shine. If you prefer fluorescent lamps, choose warm white tones instead of daytime ones to avoid excessive brightness.
