Only 1.1 liters per 100 kilometers.
The crossover of the future in the view of the German auto giant is a sports, technological, and, most importantly, damn economical car. The average fuel consumption of Audi Crosslane Coupe is fantastically small. Only 1.1 liters per 100 kilometers. Moped has more … how is it possible? It’s all about the small mass (thanks to the use of aluminum, polymers and carbon fiber, the machine, along with large lithium-ion batteries, weighs only 1390 kg) and a cunning double-mode hybrid system. It consists of a 1.5-liter TFSI gasoline engine with three cylinders with a capacity of 130 horsepower and two electric motors with a capacity of 68 and 116 horsepower. The first of the two electric motors is connected to the gasoline motor and operates in two modes (starter/generator), the second electric motor is busy with the car electricity. Up to 55 km/h, the car is driven exclusively at the expense of one electric motor, and when the car accelerates above this border, the system includes an internal combustion engine, which allows the concept in hybrid mode to squeeze 130 km/h/h. At a speed of above 130 km/h, the car is already operating only from ICE, but if necessary, the electric motor can maintain the operation of the car.
