The Avtodrom in Silverstone was opened in September 1948 with the aim of holding British races, but is rightfully considered one of the most legendary formulas in the history of the formula, first of all, the fact that it was here in the 1950s was the 1st Grand Prix The 1st World Cup Championship in the formula class, but by its appearance, the Avtodr “owes” the Second World War, after which 2 legendary English racing tracks (Donington Park and Brooklands) were destroyed, which did not allow sports competitions. The base for Silverstone Circuit was the runway of Silverstone. In the first years, racing competitions took place exclusively on these stripes, but starting in 1950, the surrounding space has been actively used. The configuration is complicated by increasing the number of turns, the infrastructure is simultaneously equipped (the low level of which, by the 2000s, almost deprived of the right to conduct the Grand Prix of Formula 1).After the changes in 1975, the speeds grew steadily, which led to the restructuring of the turn of Bridge in 1987. But before that, at the 1985 Grand Prix of the UK, Keke Rosberg (Williams) drove a circle for 1: 591 in qualification, while the average speed in the circle was 983 km/h/h. This formula 1 record was held until 2002, when in the qualification races, at another legendary autrod (Autodromo nazionale di monza), Juan Pablo Montoya (Williams) drove a circle with an average speed of 828 km/h/h/h/h/h/h/h. Since the opening in 1948 to the present, the Silverstone Circuit Avtodr has adopted 44 Grand Prix (1950-1954, 1956, 1958, 1960, 1963, 1965, 1969, 1971, 1973, 1975, 1977, 1979, 1981, 1983. 1985, 1987–2011). Thus, the Grand Prix of the UK 2012 will become a symbolic 45th. During this time, the configuration of the route changed 9 times, as a result of which the length of the circle changed from 4649 to 5891 meters. The current configuration of the route has been operating since 2010, then the circle records (qualification 1: 615 — Sebastian Vettel (Red Bul), racing 1: 874 — Fernando Alonso (Ferrari)) were set.Returning to the historical Grand Prix of 1950, it is necessary to note the “big helmet” (sulfur, victory and the best circle in the race) Nino Farina on Alfa Romeo. This British highway is in principle quite successful for Italian groups, which is confirmed by the status of the most successful team in the Ferrari asset (13 victories). And the most successful pilot can be recognized as the winner of the 5th Grand Prix Alain Prost, and 4 different teams at the wheel of car (Renault — 1983, McLaren — 1985, 1989, Ferrari — 1990, Williams — 1993).Silverstone Circuit is a fairly quick route with increased requirements for the brake system, engine and of course balancing (from the position of rubber behavior). The track, in a modern configuration, contains 18 turn. The race on Silverstone Circuit gains particular interest thanks to unpredictable British weather, which leads to frequent gatherings and departments of a security car.
