Staining wooden floors: Stages and features
The most common option of finishing wooden floors is staining. But so that the result of the process of processing flooring from wood with the help of paint is the highest quality, it is important to begin to carry out thorough preparation for a start. Its technology is largely determined by what wood needs to work. If the wood is fresh, and the floor is recently laid, then it is better to completely refuse the idea of varnishing or staining. It will be enough to treat the tree with hot olifa. It would be better to do this before the installation of boards on the floor is performed. Then the wood is processed and left for about a day to absorb olifa. But provided that the wood from which the floor is laid is no longer very fresh, a slightly different approach is needed so that the result is good. In particular, the floor must be covered with a primer on wood. The material is thoroughly rubbed along the wood fibers. When the primer dries, you should close all the cracks available in the boards using oil putty. After its drying, the plunged areas are processed with a large and then small skin. Using it, it is possible to make the floor surface perfectly even and smooth. The next step is preliminary staining. In fact, its technology lies in the fact that a little paint for the floor is added to the primer, and then the usual processing of the boards is carried out. And only after this primer layer dries, proceed directly to the staining of the surfaces. It is best to use enamel for the floor in this case. The best option when applying will be the use of a roller. In those places where this tool cannot cope with the task, turn to the use of the brush. It is very important that the enamel is thoroughly rubbed in the direction of the wood fibers. There should not be bubbles or some individual fluxes. The first layer is made very thin. To dry this layer, it will take about three days. Then the second is applied, after which it is required to wait a week. After this period, you can additionally protect wooden boards from negative factors, using a special varnish for this. But in order for the quality of the varnish layer to remain high, it will have to be updated every year. Otherwise, the floor will look unaesthetic and still very quickly lose its protection from external influences.
